Astralón Suggests : Art Calendar | October 2022
Back to our base, ready for new artistic wanderings in our city.
We welcome another new season full of art. Rested from our summer holidays and in the mood for cultural exploration in Athens, a city where art never ceases to flourish, we propose to you four selected events that we distinguish for the month of October.
Hope to meet you somewhere!
RSVP | A solo show by Chrysanthi Koumianaki
Location: B&M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music
Duration: 29/09/2022 – 25/11/2022
For the 5th iteration of THF Raw series in Αutumn 2022, artist Chrysanthi Koumianaki and curator Danai Giannoglou, continue an ongoing dialogue regarding the exploration and articulation of the language and codes of the city of Athens.
RSVP is a project that focuses on the immediate surroundings of the B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music. The elite military unit of Evzones, colloquially known as Tsolias, passers-by, traffic controllers, foreign embassies, the presidential palace: all elements that constitute the Syntagma Square and for many people go unnoticed on a daily basis.
Chrysanthi Koumianaki, deconstructs these elements and intensifies them into a new conceptual framework by creating its own vocabulary and creates allegories that bridge the urban fabric with the human body.
With a sculptural installation and a set of guidelines and rules followed by Theocharakis Foundation staff, a guided experience is created, inside and outside the building, which becomes a reminder of an ongoing emergency reality in which we must be on constant alert.

The Platforms Project is an international exhibition that always aims to present the independent artistic scene as it is expressed through group initiatives of Greek and foreign artists, active in Greece and abroad. It consistently contributes to the search of solutions to contemporary visual and theoretical questions posed internationally and the indicative mapping of visual action, as it is produced today in the visual groups-platforms.
