12 songs for Astralón, curated by artist Stefanos Rokos.

Collaborating with artist and friend Stefanos Rokos since… forever, is a blessing. ?

Our journey together has encompassed art, paintings, books, delicacies, newsletters, TikToks, shared moments of joy and sorrow, and of course, music – always music. So, when Stefanos graciously agreed to share some of his recent musical favorites with us, we couldn’t wait to dive in.

Stefanos Rokos has been a prominent figure in the art world since 2001, with solo and group exhibitions both in Greece and internationally. Noteworthy among his projects is the 2010 music and visual art endeavor, “Horror & Romance on Another Planet,” as well as his visual approach to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ LP “No More Shall We Part,” which resulted in an art book and exhibitions across Athens, Greece, and Antwerp, Belgium. His most recent solo exhibition, “The Two Temples,” was showcased in 2022 at the Zoumboulakis Galleries in Athens.

This February, Stefanos collaborated with actor/singer Vicky Krieps on the music and art project “A Channel d’amour by .KRWK,” presenting six artworks for the first time at the Los Angeles’ Spring/Break art show.

Returning to our Jukebox, Stefanos shares a selection of songs from some of his favorite artists, including Peter Gabriel, PJ Harvey, Blur and The Smashing Pumpkins, among others. Additionally, he includes two captivating tracks from the Apple Original Film “Killers of the Flower Moon,” as well as new songs from his friends, Jim Sclavunos and Stef Kamil Carlens. In fact, Carlens delivers a fantastic new one, titled “Walk On Red, Stop On Green”, sο please, don’t miss it.
