This is the third Astralón Jukebox that accompanied our daily life during the awkward spring of 2020.

The spring of 2020 was harsh and f*cking strange, with our team working from home for more than a month due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, #BlackLivesMatter movement spread across the US and the whole world, after George Floyd’s killing in Minneapolis on the 25th of May. So, while we were bombarded with endless news, a special soundtrack was created during this period.

From Brit Pop stars who were waking us up during March, like Supergrass and Boo Radleys, to indie faves who released new albums, like The Strokes, U.S. Girls and Perfume Genius, we went through bizarre ups and downs in our daily routine working from home and afterwards from our main office in Sina Street. So, Yves Tumor, Herbert, Four Tet, The Soft Pink Truth and Ezra Collective were definitely the right choices for those moments, while Pop peculiars like Fiona Apple, Lido Pimienta, Jessie Ware and Grimes stood there by our side with their melodies. Tracks from Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, The Roots and Nina Simone – among others – also brought some noise, because black music matters.
